About Our Church
The birth of Freedom Temple Ministries occurred on October 8, 2000 as a group of 38 people began "Preparing for the Promise" in Withers Auditorium on the campus of Winthrop University with a plan to "set the captive free." Two weeks later, on October 22, 2000, that plan was activated as the Old Shaw Furniture building at 145 East White Street was transformed into a storefront church called Freedom Temple Ministries. At this location, we

began "Perfecting Freedom" by providing opportunities to serve in various ministries/auxiliaries, to learn in Sunday school and P.H.A.T. (Praise, Healing, And Teaching) Tuesday Midweek Service, and to witness at the Freedom Fresh Air Tour. Now, as "A New People for a New Place" located at 605 West White Street, we continued to "Celebrate the Promise" by remaining obedient to God's will for this ministry.

Unfortunately, due to a fire in January 2004 which totally consumed the 605 White Street facility, Freedom Temple held worship services in the McGirt Auditorium at The Emmett Scott Center. However, due to God’s unlimited mercy, He has blessed Freedom Temple Ministries to relocate to a new home in downtown Rock Hill on 215 Main Street on Sunday, November 7, 2004 which is the former home of First Baptist Church of Rock Hill. Worshippers began arriving for the historical fellowship very early. They shouted, stomped and prayed throughout the entire worship service. The 60,000 foot structure contains a sanctuary that seats 700, a gym with walking track, 65 classrooms, a commercial kitchen and an office suite for the administration and staff. The church staff had worked diligently to prepare the building for the opening service for more than a week. The day begun with Sunday School Classes for all age groups and this followed by an also full house firmly in place for the 10 a.m. Morning Worship Service.

The facility has been named The Freedom Center and will house various youth and outreach ministries of the church.  It will also be used to provide a variety of services and support to the community in general.  The congregation is looking forward to making the facility an intricate part of the life and activities for all "Rock-Hillians."

In August of 2009, God lead Pastor Crump and Freedom Temple Ministries to submit under the spiritual covering and connections with the Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America under the Leadership of Bishop Alfred Owens and International First Lady Co-Pastor Susie Owens.
